A Little About Your Therapist

Hi, I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) dedicated to creating a warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. I work with adults (18+) navigating a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions.

My decision to become a therapist was rooted in a deep curiosity about the human experience and a strong belief in our capacity for growth, healing, and connection. I feel honoured to walk alongside people as they explore their inner worlds and move toward greater self-understanding and emotional well-being.

My therapeutic style is integrative and collaborative. I draw on evidence-based approaches such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while grounding my work in a person-centred, trauma-informed foundation. This means I tailor our work together based on your unique needs, values, and goals—always at a pace that feels right for you.

I offer therapy sessions in both English and Turkish, and I strive to provide a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and affirming space for people from diverse backgrounds.

Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, I’m here to support you in making meaningful changes and building a life that feels more aligned with who you are.

Fun Facts with Nilgun

Q: What’s your favourite way to unwind after a full day of sessions?

A: Lie on my yoga mat in silence for 10 minutes, then journal for five before I leave my office — just enough to clear my mind and reconnect with myself. After that, I’ll often have a Turkish TV series playing softly in the background while I paint. It’s a rhythm that grounds me — a blend of stillness, reflection, and creativity.

And then… There are days when self-care looks like curling up with my comfort food, wrapped in a blanket, being a total couch potato. That counts too. Rest is not something to earn — it’s something we all deserve.

Q: Therapy in one word?

A: BRAVE

Q: What is your favourite drink?

A: Oh, Iced Matcha Latte and, of course, lots of Turkish Coffee! I can’t start my day without having Turkish Coffee.

Q: What excites you the most about your role?

A: What excites me most about being a therapist is the quiet honour of being invited into someone’s inner world. It’s a privilege to walk beside people during some of their most vulnerable, courageous, and transformative moments — to witness not just their struggles, but their strength, resilience, and capacity to heal.

Every client brings a unique story, and each session is a reminder of the human spirit’s depth and complexity. It’s not just about offering tools or insight — it’s about holding space, offering presence, and sometimes being the first person to say, “I see you, and you make sense.”

That kind of connection — real, human, and healing — is what keeps this work alive for me. It’s deeply humbling, and I never take it for granted.

Q: What’s your therapy “vibe”?
A: Grounded presence with a side of gentle humour and metaphorical snacks for the soul.
